Traveling
Since my last post, I’ve long left New York for Texas, went to Taiwan, stopped off at Japan, went back home and finally moved back into my apartment in Atlanta, Georgia.
Oh yeah, I’ve also decided to switch majors and career plans.
For all these reasons and more, updating my trusty, reliable blog has not been at the top of my to-do list. But anyway, I’m still waiting for the career thing to pan out before I say anything more, but all that traveling has given me a bit of a thirst to see the world.
I don’t have the time (or money) to go on more than one trip this year, but here’s my list of places I want to visit while I’m still in my twenties:
1. Paris and London
2. Greece and Crete (Athens! Sparta, Delphi, etc.)
3. Italy (Rome, Florence, etc.)
4. Russia (St. Petersberg, Moscow)
5. Egypt (Cairo, the Nile, etc.)
Later, I’d like to visit:
1. Germany
2. Spain and Portugal
3. Korea
4. South Africa
5. India
6. Australia
Hmm…after writing it, I notice that my lists seem to be determined by how much I know about these places. For those countries that I’ve done extensive studies on or just happen to know a lot about, I’d like to visit them sooner. For the places that it’ll take more knowledge and research to really appreciate, I don’t mind putting off until I’m older.
But anyway, it seems I may get to go to Paris and London next year for Spring Break. Rita and I were originally planning on doing a Spain and Portugal trip, but since we’re going with other people, we think they’d probably appreciate Paris and London more. Also, I’ve been to Paris, but didn’t really get a chance to do and see all the things I wanted to do. Hopefully, we’ll be able to do it right this time around. I really (desperately) want to see Versailles and Stonehenge, so I hope this works out!
