Cooling Off
The mornings have been increasingly brisk the past week or so over here in New York. This is problematic for me, as I have lived in both Texas and Atlanta for extended amounts of time (18 and 4 years, respectively) and found both places to be too cool during the winters for my liking. Obviously, a winter in New York will be a lot worse.
So, my solution: online shopping for coats! w00t. I’ve had my eye on this coat from Anthropologie, which I think is lovely, but it has quarter sleeves, so it really wouldn’t be practical. I also like J. Crew’s coats such as this one except in white, but I feel like it’s a bit plain given the exorbitant prices. Hmmm.
Anyway, I’m looking for suggestions for places to buy nice coats. The last time I bought a coat was a few years ago, from Gap (you know, back when their clothes didn’t suck), but that one is already falling apart.
On a warmer note, it looks like I’ll be in Hawaii over Thanksgiving, so that should be fun. More w00t.

YAY HAWAII!! Btw, did you get my emails with the confirmation info? I sent it to your ‘new’ gmail account. Let me know if there’s anything in Hawaii you do or don’t want to do. I think it’s funny that you don’t really like swimming, mom doesn’t like the sun, yet we’re going to a beach vacation in Hawaii. Go figure.
Anyway, I would recommend getting a longer coat! Simple jackets look good with scarfs– are you getting any of those? And if you don’t like hoods on jackets, a cute hat works. I had this reallllly cute one that I loved from BR but I left it at dance practice once and then never saw it again (this was at CMU) =/.
I bought a khaki trenchcoat from BR but the weather here is in the 80’s so it’ll be a bit before I get to wear it.
